The Texas Bar Foundation awarded a $7,400 grant to Alliance For Children on Apr. 23 to support its court education and emergency needs programs for child abuse victims in Tarrant County.
These programs are designed to help children and their protective families as they navigate the challenges of the criminal court process. The services include guidance and emotional support from family advocates who understand the anxiety that can arise when a child must face an abuser in court.
“Walking into a court room can be overwhelming for anyone. Yet, for the children and families served by Alliance For Children, it can mean reliving trauma and violence. We are grateful to the Texas Bar Foundation for their support of children and caregivers in tangible ways to reduce anxiety during the criminal court process,” Alliance For Children CEO Julie Evans said in a press release.
