A tenant in Fort Worth, Texas, is taking legal action against her apartment management company for alleged discrimination and other violations. Glenda Denise White filed a complaint on November 20, 2025, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas against Greystar Management.

The lawsuit centers around a lease agreement that White entered into with the Historical Electric Building Apartments on October 2, 2021. This property is managed by Greystar Management Corporation, based in Irving, Texas. The lease was supposed to accommodate one adult and one minor under the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs’ Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC), which bases rental payments on income and household size according to standards set by the department.

White alleges that she faced discriminatory practices when she was prohibited from including her granddaughter Jla White on her lease from 2021 to 2024 due to familial status, which she claims is a violation of the Fair Housing Act. Despite having power of attorney and other documents proving she had been caring for Jla for years, White was unable to secure a required letter from Jla’s mother. Further complications arose when Jla gave birth in May 2024; once again, White was not allowed to include both the newborn and Jla on her lease during renewal.

In addition to these allegations of discrimination, White accuses the management team of increasing rental payments before previous leases expired and falsifying her income information for 2022 and 2023. These actions prompted White to file complaints with various agencies including the City of Fort Worth and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. She also reported intimidation tactics used by the management when they placed eviction notices inside her unit due to disputes over incorrect income verification forms.

White seeks relief from the court through damages for these alleged violations as well as any ongoing wrongs at present. She emphasizes that these actions have caused significant harm and distress.

The case is being handled pro se by Glenda Denise White herself without an attorney representing her. The presiding judge over this matter has not been specified in the document provided. The case identification number is Case No: 4:25-cv-01317-O-BP.
