Richardson man receives five-year sentence for mail theft

A Richardson resident has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for possession of stolen mail, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs for the Eastern District of Texas.

Sir Darius Lamar Edmondson, 23, pleaded guilty to the charge and was ordered by U.S. District Judge Sean D. Jordan to pay $3,391.31 in restitution in addition to serving his sentence.

Court records indicate that Edmondson was found with stolen mail on October 30, 2023.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Morris.
