The United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas announced on Apr. 14 that proposed amendments to its local civil and criminal rules are now available for public comment.

The opportunity allows members of the public and legal community to review and provide input on changes that could affect court procedures in the district. The announcement was made through Special Order 2-102.

Those wishing to comment on the amended rules can submit written feedback addressed to: Clerk of Court, United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Attention: 2026 Rules Revision Comments, 1100 Commerce Street, Room 1452, Dallas, Texas 75242-1495. All comments must be received by June 1, 2026.

Providing a period for public input is standard practice when courts consider rule changes. This process helps ensure transparency and allows stakeholders an opportunity to voice their opinions before any amendments are finalized.

Once the deadline passes and comments have been reviewed, further steps regarding adoption or revision of the proposed amendments will be determined by court officials.
