Plaintiff Alleges Staffing Company Discriminated Against Her Based on Race

Megan Gentry has filed a compelling lawsuit against her former employers, alleging racial discrimination and retaliation in the workplace. The complaint was filed on February 27, 2026, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division, naming SpireTek International, Inc. and Foxconn Corporation as defendants. Gentry claims she was unjustly terminated after reporting discriminatory practices at her workplace.

The case centers around Megan Gentry’s employment experience at a Foxconn Corporation facility where she began working on December 1, 2025. As the only Black HR Specialist among approximately 250 administrative staff members, Gentry alleges she faced differential treatment compared to her non-Black colleagues. She was reportedly denied access to meetings and training opportunities and subjected to heightened scrutiny without the same support or communication provided to others. In her complaint, Gentry recounts multiple instances where she reported these discriminatory practices to Human Resources personnel at both SpireTek and Foxconn.

On December 17, 2025, Gentry first raised concerns with Samantha Kelly from Foxconn HR about race discrimination. Her subsequent complaints included discussions with Ivan Guo from Foxconn HR on January 22, 2026, where Guo acknowledged existing racial tensions within the company. On January 27, 2026, Gentry reported similar issues to Sugey Orozco Argoty from SpireTek and once again to Samantha Kelly at Foxconn HR. Despite these reports, Gentry claims that no timely investigation or acknowledgment of her complaints occurred as required by SpireTek’s anti-discrimination policy.

Gentry’s termination came abruptly on January 28, 2026—just one day after she had engaged in protected reporting activities. The reason cited for her dismissal was “performance expectations not being met,” which Gentry argues is pretextual given that no objective performance metrics or documented warnings were provided prior to her termination. Furthermore, during the discharge process, Gentry alleges that her personal property was discarded in a retaliatory manner.

In seeking justice through this lawsuit, Megan Gentry requests several forms of relief from the court. She seeks back pay and lost benefits due to her termination and demands compensatory damages for emotional distress and damage to career prospects. Additionally, she requests punitive damages as permitted by law and compensation for property loss incurred during her dismissal process. Beyond monetary compensation, Gentry also seeks injunctive relief such as corrective employment records and any other relief deemed just by the court.
