A Texas resident has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, alleging racial discrimination and retaliation in the workplace. Jasmine Alexander initiated the complaint against ADT, LLC in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas on November 18, 2025. The lawsuit accuses ADT, LLC of violating federal law by engaging in discriminatory practices that led to her termination.

According to the complaint, Jasmine Alexander began working for ADT as a dispatcher on November 2, 2020. She claims that she was an exemplary employee until she started experiencing harassment from her manager, Devon Wilson, after declining a cross-training opportunity in December 2023. Alexander alleges that Wilson subjected her to disparaging remarks about her competence and mental health—remarks not directed at non-black employees on her team. The situation escalated when Wilson made cross-training mandatory only for Alexander while exempting others on her team.

Alexander’s complaint details numerous instances where she felt singled out due to her race. For example, she recounts being pressured into sharing personal information during one-on-one meetings with Wilson and being criticized without evidence for alleged performance issues. She further claims that despite favorable reports from other supervisors like Kathy Benoit, Wilson continued to harass and scrutinize her work unjustly.

The lawsuit cites violations under 42 U.S.C. §1981, which prohibits racial discrimination in employment. Alexander argues that she was treated less favorably than similarly situated employees outside of her protected group (African American) and that the reasons given for her termination were pretextual and racially motivated.

In terms of relief sought, Alexander is asking for damages including back pay, front pay, compensation for past and future mental anguish, and attorney’s fees. She also seeks exemplary damages due to what she describes as the egregious nature of ADT’s conduct.

Representing Jasmine Alexander is Jonathan J. “Jack” Walters from Walters Law Office PLLC based in Fort Worth, Texas. The case is presided over by Judge N under Case ID 3:25-cv-03168-N.
