In a compelling legal battle, a Houston resident has taken action against a prominent steakhouse and its associated companies, claiming negligence after suffering injuries on their premises. Victoria Lopez filed the complaint in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on October 9, 2025, targeting Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse, Landry’s Inc., and Landry’s Management LP.
The case centers around an incident that occurred on June 18, 2025. According to the petition filed by Lopez, she was an invitee at Vic and Anthony’s Steakhouse when she encountered a wet and slippery substance on the floor that had not been properly cleaned or marked with warning signs. This hazardous condition led to her slipping and falling, resulting in serious injuries. The lawsuit accuses the defendants of failing to maintain a safe environment for patrons and neglecting to warn them about potential dangers.
Lopez asserts that Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse owned and operated the premises where the incident took place. She further claims that Landry’s Inc. and Landry’s Management LP exercised control over maintenance, safety protocols, and employee supervision related to the premises. The plaintiff argues that these entities knew or should have known about the dangerous condition but failed to take appropriate measures to rectify it.
The lawsuit outlines several allegations of negligence against the defendants. It states they breached their duty of care by not maintaining a reasonably safe environment, failing to warn about existing hazards, neglecting regular inspections to identify such dangers, and not exercising reasonable care towards Lopez as an invitee. Each of these acts or omissions is cited as contributing factors leading to her injuries.
Victoria Lopez seeks monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but less than $1 million for past and future medical expenses, mental anguish, physical pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, physical disfigurement, loss of earning capacity or household services, pre-judgment interest, post-judgment interest, court costs, and any other damages revealed through discovery during litigation.
Representing Victoria Lopez are attorneys from Roberts Markland LLP: R. Eric Markland (State Bar No. 24027475), Kristen Forcht (State Bar No. 2408753), and Demetria Frank (State Bar No. 24050623). The case is presided over by Judge Nelson Cuero in Court 189 under Case ID 2025-77178.
