A slip-and-fall incident at a grocery store has led to a legal battle, with the plaintiff seeking justice for alleged negligence. On October 17, 2025, Thieu Uc Do filed a complaint in the District Court of Harris County against Tan Binh Market International LLC (TBMI), accusing the company of failing to maintain safe premises.

The case stems from an incident on December 17, 2023, when Thieu Uc Do visited TBMI’s retail grocery store located at 11698 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, Texas. As Do entered the store, he slipped on misplaced produce and fell violently to the ground. This fall resulted in serious and permanent injuries that required medical attention. The plaintiff argues that TBMI was negligent in maintaining its property and failed to provide adequate warnings about potential hazards.

According to the petition, TBMI had control over the premises and owed certain duties to ensure safety for invitees like Do. The lawsuit claims that there were no visible signs or barriers to notify customers of the dangerous conditions within the store. Furthermore, it alleges that TBMI’s employees had actual knowledge of the defective condition and failed to address it promptly. The plaintiff contends that these actions constitute negligence on part of TBMI and directly caused his injuries.

Thieu Uc Do is seeking monetary relief ranging from $250,000 to $1,000,000 for damages incurred due to this incident. These damages include past and future medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earning capacity, and physical impairment. Additionally, Do requests that all evidence related to this case be preserved by TBMI as part of their legal obligation.

Representing Thieu Uc Do are attorneys Jared B. Ynigez, Brian Winkler, and Zehra A. Zaidi from The Law Office of Jared B. Ynigez PLLC based in Houston. The case is filed under Case ID No. 107000634 in Harris County’s District Court with Judge Marilyn Burgess presiding over proceedings.
