An explosive lawsuit has been filed in the Northern District of Texas, where a former nurse is accusing her previous employer of severe workplace misconduct. Anicisha Williams, a former Operating Room Registered Nurse at Methodist Midlothian, a campus of Methodist Hospitals of Dallas, filed the complaint on November 24, 2025. The lawsuit names Methodist Hospitals of Dallas and several individuals associated with the hospital as defendants.
The complaint details a series of allegations against the defendants, including Dr. Edward Mairura, Brenna Wright, Marisol Estrada, Ronald Roberson, and Marvyn Davis. Williams claims she faced escalating hostility and retaliation after reporting an incident involving workplace violence in December 2024. Despite raising safety concerns to her supervisors—Charge Nurse Roberson and Manager Davis—and Dr. Mairura, Williams alleges that her complaints were minimized and ignored. Instead of addressing these issues, she asserts that the defendants retaliated against her by creating a hostile work environment.
Williams recounts that after rejecting romantic advances from Manager Davis, she was subjected to further retaliation such as threats of schedule removal and unjustified disciplinary actions. She also describes an incident where law enforcement was called to investigate a violent episode involving Brenna Wright but was obstructed from giving her statement by Defendant Roberson in front of Dr. Mairura.
The lawsuit accuses the defendants of numerous legal violations including Title VII Retaliation and Hostile Work Environment claims under federal civil rights laws (42 U.S.C §1981), negligence in hiring and supervision practices, failure to protect employees from known risks, intentional infliction of emotional distress (IIED), invasion of privacy through wrongful disclosure of confidential information, tortious interference with employment relations, civil conspiracy among others.
Williams seeks compensatory damages for emotional distress and lost wages totaling $40 million along with punitive damages for reputational harm and loss of professional opportunities due to exclusion from international missions like the Kenya medical mission trip organized by the Mairura Family Foundation—a move she claims was retaliatory despite having no prior disciplinary history.
Representing herself pro se in this case without legal counsel underscores Williams’ determination to hold those accountable for what she perceives as grave injustices suffered during her tenure at Methodist Midlothian Hospital.
This high-stakes litigation is being overseen by Judge S-BW under Case ID: 3:25-cv-03230-S-BW.
