A new legal battle has emerged in the Southern District of Texas, raising serious allegations of misconduct and conspiracy involving a deceased businessman and his estate. On February 25, 2026, Amir Mireskandari filed a complaint against Kevan Casey and the Estate of Kevan Casey in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The lawsuit accuses Casey of orchestrating a complex scheme to silence critics through intimidation and misuse of judicial processes.
The plaintiff, Amir Mireskandari, alleges that the defendants engaged in a prolonged campaign of harassment following his involvement with Luxeyard, Inc., which was at the center of an alleged pump-and-dump scheme orchestrated by Casey. According to the complaint, this scheme resulted in over $56 million in illicit gains since 2018. The case is deeply intertwined with ongoing litigation involving the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which has accused Casey of securities fraud.
Mireskandari’s complaint outlines a series of retaliatory actions allegedly taken by Casey to suppress exposure of his fraudulent activities. In one instance, it is claimed that Casey manipulated court proceedings to have Mireskandari and his attorney arrested during a contempt hearing on February 27, 2024. The arrest was purportedly based on false affidavits orchestrated by Casey to fabricate charges against Mireskandari. “Never in a free democracy or constitutional republic should the state ever be commandeered by a private individual to trample on another private citizen,” states the complaint.
The lawsuit seeks various forms of relief from the court, including compensatory damages for emotional distress, reputational harm, loss of liberty, and legal fees incurred due to what Mireskandari describes as baseless legal proceedings initiated by Casey. Additionally, punitive damages are sought to deter similar conduct in the future.
Representing Amir Mireskandari is attorney Lloyd E. Kelley from Houston, Texas. The case is presided over by Judge Martin Hoffman under Case ID 4:26-cv-01562.
