In a recent court filing, Mamie Anderson has initiated a lawsuit against Nissan Motor Co., Ltd and Nissan North America, Inc. The case was originally filed in the 162nd District Court of Dallas County, Texas, but has been moved to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Anderson claims that her 2018 Nissan Altima suddenly accelerated and crashed into a pole due to defects in its transmission system. She is seeking over $1 million in damages for alleged product liability and failure to warn about dangerous conditions. The removal to federal court is based on diversity jurisdiction as the parties are from different states and the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000.
