In a lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Lawrence Chenworth accuses Cotton Holdings, Inc., and its subsidiaries of age discrimination. The complaint alleges that Chenworth was unlawfully terminated due to his age, in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA). Despite consistently exemplary performance and commendations throughout his tenure, Chenworth claims he was fired after an incident involving an email reply-all mistake—a mistake also made by younger employees who were not similarly penalized. The suit seeks damages, equitable relief, and attorney’s fees.
