Erica Ragins has filed a lawsuit against Gen Digital Inc. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, alleging employment discrimination based on sex and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code. Ragins, a former Associate Cyber Security Agent at Gen Digital’s Plano, Texas facility, claims she faced sexist comments from her manager and was denied promotion opportunities despite being qualified. The complaint details incidents of sexual harassment, including derogatory remarks and gender-based stereotyping. Ragins also alleges that after reporting these issues to management and Human Resources, she experienced retaliatory actions such as reduced work hours and missing wages, ultimately leading to her constructive discharge. The lawsuit seeks damages for emotional distress, lost wages, punitive damages, and other reliefs.
