An Aubrey, Texas man has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for child exploitation offenses, according to an announcement from Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs for the Eastern District of Texas.
John Prentice Robertson, 65, pleaded guilty to producing child pornography and received a sentence of 360 months from U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on October 21, 2025.
Court records indicate that between May 2022 and April 2024, Robertson communicated with adult women in the Philippines using an internet-based social media application. He paid these women to create images and videos depicting children under the age of 12 engaged in sexually explicit acts. The material was sent to Robertson via the social media platform or through live-streaming. He admitted to transferring more than $8,000 to individuals in the Philippines between 2015 and 2021 through one money remitting service.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local agencies. More information about this program can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Philippine National Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Marisa Miller and Trial Attorney Rachel Rothberg from the Department of Justice’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section prosecuted the case.
