Brooks County man pleads guilty to meth trafficking in Corpus Christi area

A Falfurrias resident has pleaded guilty to multiple narcotics transactions in the Corpus Christi area, Acting U.S. Attorney John G.E. Marck announced on Mar. 16.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by federal authorities to address drug trafficking in South Texas. The investigation into Rodolfo Alvarado began in March 2025, with law enforcement uncovering text messages and financial records that pointed to widespread drug activity. Authorities conducted controlled purchases from Alvarado and his co-conspirators over several months.

On Aug. 8, 2025, a search warrant was executed at Alvarado’s home, where officers found items associated with drug distribution such as digital scales and plastic baggies. Investigators also discovered a concealed hole beneath a shaded structure containing approximately 303.73 grams of methamphetamine.

U.S. District Judge David S. Morales is scheduled to sentence Alvarado on June 18, when he could face up to ten years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The Drug Enforcement Administration led the investigation, while Assistant U.S. Attorneys John Lamont and Ashley Pruitt are prosecuting the case.
