Beverly Taylor has filed a lawsuit against Deerbrook Mall, LLC, claiming negligence after suffering personal injuries from a fall at the mall. The complaint was lodged in Harris County, Texas, on November 6, 2025. Taylor alleges that Deerbrook Mall failed to maintain safe premises and neglected to warn her of hazardous conditions.

The incident occurred on August 8, 2025, when Beverly Taylor visited Deerbrook Mall located at 20131 US-59 in Humble, Texas. As she made her way towards an exit, she slipped on a wet surface with no warning signs in sight. This fall resulted in significant injuries for Taylor. She asserts that the mall management either created or failed to rectify this dangerous condition and did not provide adequate warnings about it. According to the petition, “Defendant knew or should have known of the unreasonably dangerous condition and neither corrected nor warned Plaintiff of it.”

Taylor’s legal team argues that Deerbrook Mall is liable under premises liability and negligence laws due to their failure to ensure safe conditions for visitors. The complaint details several alleged negligent actions by the defendant: failing to maintain safe walkways, neglecting necessary inspections, not correcting hazardous conditions promptly, and failing to inform invitees like Taylor about existing dangers.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief not exceeding $250,000.96 as per Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 47(c), although they assert that the controversy amount does not surpass $75,000.00. Damages claimed include past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment and disfigurement, as well as lost wages and diminished earning capacity.

Represented by attorney Michael Grinsfelder from Daspit Law Firm PLLC in Houston, Texas (Bar No.: 24080919), Beverly Taylor requests a judgment against Deerbrook Mall for damages within the court’s jurisdictional limits along with pre- and post-judgment interest. The case is filed under Cause No. 2025-84847 in Harris County District Court before Judge Wanda Chambers.
