A Beaumont man has been sentenced to almost 10 years in federal prison following an armed robbery at a local business, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs for the Eastern District of Texas.
Naiyme Kidd, 28, pleaded guilty to charges of Hobbs Act robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. On December 11, 2025, U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone sentenced him to 117 months in federal prison.
Court records show that on February 19, 2025, law enforcement responded to a report of an armed robbery at Joy’s Fun Place on South 11th Street in Beaumont. The establishment operates as both a game room and convenience store where patrons can play machines for store credit. According to the store clerk’s account provided to officers, the suspect entered with a firearm, pressed it against the clerk’s chest, demanded money, and took about $400 before leaving.
An investigation involving surveillance footage and witness statements led authorities to identify Kidd as the perpetrator. He later pleaded guilty.
The prosecution was part of Operation Take Back America, described as “a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.”
The case was investigated by both the Beaumont Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Quinn prosecuted the case.
