In a recent court filing in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, plaintiff Basil Clark Gibbs, also known as BASIL GIBBS, has filed a lawsuit against Catherine Diann Williams and Denny’s Corporation along with its franchise located at 1579 North Fry Road, Katy, Texas. The case alleges racial discrimination and violation of human rights after an incident on September 23, 2024. Gibbs claims he was racially profiled and denied service based on his race and perceived national origin while visiting the restaurant. The lawsuit seeks compensatory damages not less than $4 million, punitive damages, injunctive relief to prevent future discrimination, and attorneys’ fees.
