Antoine Pierre, a former Senior Retina Account Manager at Alimera Sciences, Inc., has filed a lawsuit against his previous employer in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The complaint alleges racial discrimination under 42 U.S.C. § 1981 after Pierre was reassigned to a less profitable territory and subsequently terminated. Despite receiving positive performance reviews and awards, Pierre claims that the reallocation of his sales territory and his termination were racially motivated. He also asserts that Alimera Sciences has a pattern of disproportionately terminating African American employees. Pierre is seeking back pay, front pay, compensatory damages, punitive damages, attorney fees, and other legal relief.
